The Université Laval and the Quebec Bar call on Élisabeth Pinard

Élisabeth Pinard has been appointed as a member of the Discipline Committee of the Quebec Bar for the Quebec region for the fiscal year 2006-2007. This Committee is responsible for hearing complaints filed against lawyers for breaches of the law or the Bar’s regulations and imposing sanctions, where warranted.She has also been elected to the Board of Directors of the Université Laval for a three-year term, as the representative of the Fondation de l’Université Laval in her capacity as its outgoing president.

Many Lavery, de Billy lawyers are named in Best Lawyers in Canada

The U.S. publication Best Lawyers, which offers a classification of the best lawyers in the United States in some 80 areas of the law, entered into an agreement this year with the National Post and its Legal Post section for the publication of a new Canadian classification. In order to develop this classification, Best Lawyers surveyed thousands of lawyers across Canada over a two-year period. Weekly since October 18, 2006, the National Post has been featuring lawyers who have distinguished themselves in various areas of the law. Many of our lawyers will be featured throughout the year, including Pierre-L. Baribeau, Pierre Cantin, Paul Cartier, Jean-Pierre Casavant, Nicolas Gagnon, Jean Hébert, Odette Jobin-Laberge, Louis-André Leclerc, Guy Lemay, Robert W. Mason, Pamela McGovern, Jacques Nols, J. Vincent O’Donnell, Jean Saint-Onge, Raphaël Schachter, Gerald Stotland and Michel Yergeau.
